This group was originally formed to take into consideration how the residents would like to see their villages progress and to identify any issues which were causing concern.
The Group reports to the Parish Council have been responsible for the publication of the original 'Parish Plan' in 2005.
Following further consultation they recently launched Parish Plan 'Update' 2010.
The group consists of interested community representatives, Parish Councillors and representatives from Doncaster Metropolitan Council who attend as required.
New members are always welcome so, if you are interested in assisting them to achieve the new initiatives identified in the 'Parish Plan Update 2010' You should contact the Clerk to the Parish Council below

Minutes of the
Steering Committee held at Barnburgh Village Hall on
Monday 18th January 2010 at 7.00pm.
1. There were no apologies for absence. 2. Notes of the meetings of the Parish Plan Steering Committee held on 9h November 2009 related specifically to the Launch meeting held on the 24th November 2009. The Chairman thanked Louis and Jamie Fleetwood for their efforts at the launch in providing the display. 3. Discussion took place with regard to the main action points contained in the Parish Plan 2010 Update, listed on pages 6 & 7, of the document.
Provision of more dog waste bins - a number of locations were considered. It was agreed that the Clerk should contact BMBC to seek their assistance in locating a bin in the vicinity of the railway cutting entrance off Hollowgate. Members to give further consideration to other suitable locations throughout the villages. Provision of footpath Harlington to Crown Inn – Councillor Taylor detailed the current position concerning this proposal, which is currently being pursued by the Parish Council and DMBC. Improvement of traffic safety, 20mph zone school and other residential areas – It was agreed that the Clerk should approach DMBC to arrange a meeting of the PPSC at which officer/s of DMBC could attend to discuss this proposal in more detail. Provision of Skate/bike Park; toddler play area; youth facilities at the Recreation Ground – discussions took place concerning the involvement of the Parish Council, PPSC and BHLCA in moving this proposal forward. It was also identified that there would be a need to have further consultation specifically with user groups of the equipment proposed. Various other points were identified: -
It was agreed that the matter should be discussed at the next meeting of the Parish Council with a view to arranging a meeting of the PC, PPSC and BHCLA. 4. Next meeting/s - to be arranged (Clerk to circulate details). 5.The meeting closed at 8.10pm. |
